Pedestrian suffers spinal cord injury in URD accident

The man was reportedly struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road.

A MAN believed to be 35 years old sustained a spinal cord injury after being struck by a vehicle on Umhlanga Rocks Drive this morning.

Kyle van Reenen, spokesman for Crisis Medical, said reports from the scene indicate that the man was struck shortly after 7am while attempting to cross the busy road.

“He was treated and stabilised on scene before being taken to hospital,” he said.
