Rovers outclass Crusaders in massive win

College Rovers scored 11 tries in the game.

YOUR Communications College Rovers beat the PhotoNote Crusaders on Saturday scoring 11 tries in a 72-13 win. It was the team’s second loss of the Fidelity Security Moor Cup after their loss to Varsity College RFC in their opening round.

Poor discipline cost the visitors again as they had a man sin binned in the first half for a dangerous tackle, and late in the second half, experienced referee Marius Jonker, awarded a penalty try against the Crusaders.

The ‘Saders scored a solitary try in the game but were sorely outclassed, a fact not lost on head coach, Shaun van Rensburg.

“We came up against a class outfit, we know to beat Rovers we need to compete at every ruck and maul. They played extremely well and they are always going to be tough to beat. We are a very new side, I’m still finding my feet, we are still trying out new combinations, we are still taking time our to find our chemistry. We’ve got two home games now and we’ve got to make them count. I’ve confidence in the boys that they can turn it around in the next two games,” he said.
