Man robbed of cell phone at stop sign

No one was injured in the incident and the police are appealing for any information regarding the robbery.

A MAN was robbed of his cell phone by two men at a stop street on Monday morning at about 8am on Sea Cow Lake Road. According to W/O Leon Audh of the Greenwood Park SAPS, the man was distracted by one of the suspects, who tried to get into his car.

“He was on his cell phone when he made the stop and noticed two men approaching his vehicle. One of them went to his passenger side door and tried to open it, distracting the victim, the other suspect grabbed his phone through the open window and ran away. We appeal to anyone who could assist with this matter to please contact me on 079 500 0261.

“Never keep your windows open when you approach a stop sign or robot. Don’t leave cell phones or other valuables visible in your motor vehicle when you are driving or parked. Do not park to close to the vehicle in front of you when at a stop sign or robot, there should be enough distance left for you to drive away if approached by suspects,” he said.
