Robbers burn La Lucia dog with boiling water

The dog was locked in the bathroom and suffered second degree burns.

A DOG belonging to a La Lucia family was doused with boiling water on Friday night by robbers who looted the Shelbourne Avenue home. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen the horrific incident happened at around 8pm.

Van Reenen said the home owner arrived home to find her driveway gate open and flagged down a patrolling Marshall Security armed response vehicle for assistance to escort her onto the property.

“On further investigation, it was ascertained that an unknown number of suspects had derailed the electric gate, forced entry into the home through the front door, ransacking the premises.”

They then found the dog locked in the bathroom in a critical condition, having suffered a severe beating, as well as second degree burns believed to have been caused by the  boiling water.
The dog was rushed to Ashburne Veterinary Clinic. What’s more a second dog is missing.

The suspects made off in an unknown direction with various high end electronic equipment including flat screen televisions and a laptop computer.

The scene was later handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
