Andy Carrie’s life to be celebrated

Carrie was tragically killed in an accident on Saturday.

THE family of local resident, Andy Carrie, who was tragically killed in an accident on Essenwood Road on Saturday night have released a heartbreaking statement. They have thanked all those for messages of support and have invited those who knew Andy to a celebration of his life.

The former Crawford College La Lucia pupil, was hit by an alleged drunk driver.

“We’ve been so incredibly moved by all of your tributes to our beautiful brother and son, he lived such a full life and deserves to be rejoiced and celebrated in true Andy style. We’d love for you to join us as we honour the amazing legacy that he’s left us with…We love you all, and cannot tell you how much we appreciate all the words and memories flooding through. It’s been incredible,” the Carrie family said in a Facebook statement.

Andy’s life will be celebrated at Glenridge Church International (65 Masabalala Yengwa Avenue, on Tuesday, 13 December at 2pm to 4pm).

“This invitation is extended to absolutely anyone, so please go wild with the invites. For Andrew’s friends far and wide who are unable to come through, our amazing friends at Tomfoolery are organising a live feed for you to be with all of us.”

According to Berea SAPS spokesman PN Naidoo, charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless and negligent driving were brought against the driver.

Andy’s friends have also asked for people to share a post for the Carrie Family of how you intend to carry on Andy’s legacy of living life to the fullest by using the hashtag, #livelikeandy.

This is one of the last videos Andy uploaded before he passed away.
