Armed men storm Prestondale home

The armed robbers ransacked the house and then made off with the homeowner's vehicle, a VW Polo.

DURBAN North police are looking for four men who were involved in an armed robbery in uMhlanga on Saturday night. The robbery occurred on Fern Road in Prestondale around 10.30pm confirmed station spokesman, Capt Raymond Deokaran. What is more, the armed robbers also made off with the homeowner’s vehicle, a VW Polo.

“The homeowner saw four armed men march his cousins into his house at gunpoint. They were told to lie down and were tied up by the armed suspects. The suspects then ransacked the house stealing jewellery, a TV, the victims’ cell phones before packing the items into the homeowner’s vehicle.

“The VW Polo was later found abandoned in KwaMashu. Unfortunately, the suspects are still at large. Property to the value of more than R100 000 was taken during the robbery,” he said.
