Effingham’s Nicole brings home international crown

Nicole Maistry, competed against 33 other participants from around the world at the inter-nations pageant.

EFFINGHAM’S Nicole Maistry was recently crowned Mrs Inter-Nations at a glittering pageant in Singapore.

The pageant aims to promote women from all walks of life and to extend opportunities to them to make a difference on a global scale.
Maistry, a former Mrs India winner, said she was overwhelmed with gratitude following the win.

“My reign for Mrs India ended in August and at that time I became an ambassador for Mrs Uniworld. When I was invited to compete in this pageant I decided I wanted to do this to showcase South Africa on the international stage,” she explained.

“When they announced my name as the winner, I was overwhelmed with gratitude, I never expected to win at all. My husband who travelled with me was in the crowd and as I walked to be crowned I locked eyes with him and just broke down in tears of joy,” she said.

Maistry, competed against 33 other participants from around the world at the inter-nations pageant.

Maistry said she now plans to give back this festive season by donating hampers to Tongaat pensioners.
