THE Durban North SAPS have secured a temporary number for their community service office (CSC) following an incident of cable theft which left the station without phone lines since the beginning of November.
Earlier this week, residents expressed their frustration to Northglen News about the situation, calling it unacceptable.
According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station, they are in the process of requesting sim or ITP lines to be installed.

“They are similar to cell phone lines and we are just awaiting approval and installation from our provincial office. For the charge office or CSC we’ve secured a temporary number 031 325 6590 for residents to get hold of us in the case of an emergency or related inquiries,” he said.
Deokaran added police officials had been using their private cell phones over the last month to help victims of crime and those who needed help at the station.
