Compass Cares launches 2026 calendars

For 17 years, Compass Medical Waste Services has turned creativity into compassion, and this year’s calendars are extra special.

COMPASS Cares, the CSI initiative of Compass Medical Waste Services, has launched its much-anticipated 2026 calendar campaign, continuing a 17-year tradition of using art and photography to fuel change for vulnerable animals and endangered wildlife across KwaZulu-Natal.

This year’s Cat Calendar is a heartfelt tribute to Skabenga, the beloved feline mascot of The Oyster Box Hotel, who died earlier in 2025. The Wildlife Calendar is dedicated to Marc de Chalain, a passionate wildlife photographer.

His wife, Stella de Chalain, graciously provided his photographs for this edition, honouring his legacy and love for South Africa’s wild spaces.

Photography and design for the calendars were crafted by Brendan Bromfield, whose work brings life and emotion to each page.

Compass Cares was established by Ian and Judy du Randt, driven by a mission to transform everyday items, like calendars, into tools for positive impact.

“Each calendar sold is more than just a datekeeper; it’s a promise of food, shelter, medical care, sterilisation, and hope for an animal in need,” said Judy.

“It’s about using what we have to protect what we love.”

Compass Cares extended heartfelt thanks to its sponsors, supporters, and the public for their ongoing commitment.

“This campaign is a collective effort made possible by every person who buys a calendar or helps spread the word,” said Ian.
