Assist Durban North NPO in making triangles of love

Over the years The Domino Foundation Nutrition Programme has churned out 150 000 sandwiches to learners north and south of Durban.

THE Domino Foundation is calling on the public to support its “Be the Peanut Butter to my Bread”, which aims to collect bottles of peanut butter which will be utilised in its sarmie-making operation later this year.

“October 16 is World Food Day and promotes awareness of those suffering from hunger, highlighting the need to ensure healthy diets for all. Peanut butter is an indispensable part of our nutrition programme.

With Christmas not too far off, we are inviting schools, churches and other groups to help us keep our pantry well-stocked with this high-protein item,” said the foundation’s Thembeka Gumede.

“We are not only concerned with filling empty tummies. While peanut butter is very nutritious, helping physical development, reducing deficiency risks, boosting immunity and enhancing vision, it also helps improve memory, cognitive function and concentration.”

In addition to the donations of peanut butter, the foundation also welcomes volunteers to assist in making the sandwiches.

Anyone wanting to join the Domino effect and learn more about the programme can email connect@domino.org.za or call 031 110 0730.
