Stolen vehicle recovered in Avoca Hills

No arrests have yet been made, however, Greenwood Parks SAPS are investigating.

A COORDINATED effort between Cartrack, Marshall Security and the Greenwood Park SAPS Trio Crimes Unit led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicle, which was stolen in Morningside, was later recovered abandoned in Avoca Hills.

“Our team collaborated with tracking services to pinpoint the vehicle’s last known location and proceeded to Avoca Hills,” explained Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

The recovered Volkswagen Polo was transported to Greenwood Park SAPS for further legal processing and investigation.

No arrests have yet been made.

The incident comes hours after a high-speed chase, captured on dash cam, led to a recovery of a stolen vehicle near the uMdloti off-ramp.

In that incident, the driver of the vehicle crashed into the barricade as he attempted to evade arrest.

He was later arrested by Verulam SAPS.
