Stolen vehicle recovered in Greenwood Park

It was established that the vehicle had been stolen earlier this year. The occupants claimed to have purchased it two weeks ago.

A STOLEN vehicle was recovered in Greenwood Park on Monday morning (May 6) after a resident reported that the ‘suspicious’ truck was seen parked on Parkstation Road.

Swift Private Security responded and, en route, established that the vehicle had been stolen in January.

“We received information that the Isuzu NPR 300 truck might have been stolen from Tyger Avenue, Greenwood Park, in early January 2024, and was still not yet recovered,” said Swift Private Security spokesperson Sanveer Sooklal.

Upon arrival, officers interviewed the three suspects regarding the vehicle while conducting a confirmation check.

“Simultaneously, our Swift control centre contacted the original owner of the vehicle to verify if it was indeed the one stolen earlier this year. Upon their arrival, the original owners confirmed the identity of their vehicle after consulting with Greenwood Park SAPS, who were also present,” he added.

During questioning, the suspects claimed to have purchased the vehicle two weeks prior.

Following these events, Swift Private Security officers escorted the victims, the truck and the suspects to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
