IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Samantha Meyrick confirmed the accident occurred just after 08:30.

The patient was stabilised on scene under the care of IPSS paramedics, having sustained serious injuries,” she said.

Meyrick urged motorists to drive with extreme caution in the wet weather.
