IT appears that Tata Madiba’s Rainbow Nation has become a dysfunctional and inept country. Just switch on the radio or television and all you hear is how some or other government department is in trouble. Try phone any state department and it will be a modern-day miracle if you can manage to speak to someone. What happened with the Nkandla matter? I thought the DA opened corruption charges?
Our post office appears to be on some kind of go-slow. I am still expecting letters from Gauteng from two months ago. Not to mention the Eskom crisis, which has conveniently been blamed on apartheid.
Let us not forget one thing – Zimbabwe did not go down because of Mugabe’s land grab. It went down years before because, just like SA today, there was no accountability, there was corruption and no meaningful opposition.
It will be easy to dismiss me as just another white racist because I have voiced my concerns. My response is simple: prove me wrong. Unless we are all to sit back and accept the ANC’s explanation that Apartheid is to be blamed for all of our problems today.
