Rain has final say in SA20 clash in Durban

The game was abandoned after 11 overs.

AFTER getting 11 overs in of the first innings, the Betway SA20 clash between Durban’s Super Giants and MI Cape Town was decided by the weather with both teams taking two points from the clash.

DSG managed to get themselves into a good position after winning the toss and bowling first, however the rain started and was unrelenting, forcing an abandonment of the match at Kingsmead.

After a circumspect start with the ball, DSG had to wait until the fourth over before they claimed their first wicket.

Junior Dala castled Ryan Rickelton for 18, then in the ninth over Keshav Maharaj picked up his first wicket which saw the end of Reeza Hendricks for 8 before Noor Ahmad picked up the third wicket of Colin Ingram.

At the halfway point of the innings DSG had pulled the run-rate back following a maiden wicket from Ahmad.

MI Cape Town were 62 for three after 10 overs.

However, at the end of 11 overs the players were forced off the field for rain with MI Cape Town 69 for three and they never returned.
