5th edition of Inkosi Yomahlalela Games to kick off this weekend

The tournament is expected to produce exciting and competitive matches.

The much-anticipated Inkosi Yomahlalela Games are set to start this weekend in the Emahlutshini area of Estcourt. 2025 marks the fifth edition of the tournament, with 17 teams ready to battle it out for top spot in both the U/13 and U/17 divisions.

SM Makhathini, one of the organisers, said they are expecting thrilling matches and an exciting showcase of young talent. “We are also inviting small businesses to come on board and referees to officiate the games. A big thank you goes to our partners, Ncibidwane Clinic, who will be on-site to provide HIV testing and counselling,” said Makhathini.

Ahead of the tournament, a social crime awareness programme will be held tomorrow morning (September 5) at Inkosi Bhungane High School in partnership with the South African Police Service (SAPS).
