An elderly resident was shocked to find a dog’s carcass in a maize bag in the Klip River on Sunday while out walking his dogs. The man usually takes his dogs for a walk along the Klip River bypass. On Sunday, while they were on one of their walks, his dogs starting sniffing at the water’s edge and became very upset.
That’s when he saw the floating bag and initially thought that a corpse might be inside it. “I thought it could be a human body, as one was found close by recently.”
The man used a stick to pull the bag to the edge of the water, and proceeded to see what was inside. He was disgusted to find a dead brown dog in the bag. It is unclear if the dog was dead before it was thrown into the water or if someone killed it by throwing it into a watery grave. The municipality was alerted to the situation.
“The sick people who did this had better hope that the tide doesn’t turn on them,” remarked the upset resident.
