Resident “assists” with street signs

Disillusioned with the lack of service delivery, a resident has decided to “assist” the municipality with street signs.

Living in Pioneer Park on Fyfe Road, the disgruntled resident who wished to remain anonymous, said he had had enough.

“When I order something that requires to be delivered by courier services, the delivery man often drives right past my street and and I cannot blame him.”

With several missing street signs in Newcastle, the resident said he had simply decided that complaining would fall onto deaf ears.

“I got some white paint, walked to where the street signs were meant to be and painted the name of the street,” said the resident.

Despite emails and several phone calls over the past two weeks to the municipality’s communication department for comment, none was forthcoming at the time of going to print.
