Living with epilepsy isn’t a reason to give up.
So says Dean Simpson, a Glencoe youngster who lives with the condition.
Though being limited in the things he can do, Dean still has fun with friends and lives his life as best he can. He urged others who suffer with the condition to not give up. Many epilepsy sufferers feel like quitting due to the challenges they face. Dean explained that these challenges include the difficulties of getting a job and being not allowed to drive a vehicle as a result of the seizures. “It’s not the end of the world,” he said. Dean and a few other youngsters in Glencoe have organised a Purple Day Walk for Epilepsy Awareness. The walk will take place on Saturday, March 29 at the Dundee Boulevard Centre. The walk will start between 9:30am and 10am. It was originally scheduled for March 26, International Epilepsy Awareness Day but has now been moved to the Saturday to accommodate more supporters. Anybody is welcome to attend and must wear something purple.
