Four organisations patiently waited in line to present their ideas to council during the monthly meeting held in the council chambers last Wednesday. The Planning, Economic and Community Services (PECS) department was one of the four to deliver a presentation to council, focussing on the naming and renaming of streets and public facilities in Estcourt.

PECS representatives gave both a verbal and visual report on how the process will be implemented as well as other interesting findings. Councillors requested a hard copy of the presentation, in order to familiarise themselves with the naming and renaming process. Next to present was Letsatsi Finance and Loans and thereafter was R&B and Masinyane Cash Loans.

Letsatsi gave a verbal presentation and the representative handed out literature to councillors. These companies issue loans and after their presentations, hoped to interest councillors.
To end the presentations, Mr AR Khan, a representative from Estcourt Hospice Association handed information brochures about a three-day charity fair that the association was planning to raise funds. Mr Khan took council through the terms and conditions for the charity fair and added that this was a great entertainment opportunity for the town’s residents as well as business people. The association is in search of assistance from the municipality, such as the use of Lambert Park and its facilities for the fair. Councillors made note of the request for assistance.
