Suspended Endumeni Municipal Manager, TP Biyela, has flatly rejected allegations that municipal property has been stored on his property in Dundee.
He also told the Courier that he had ‘no idea about any interdict’ granted by Judge King Ndlovu against himself and former Ward 4 Councillor, Bheki Ngobese (who resigned earlier this year).
He asked the Courier from his Durban home: “I have never seen any interdict against me. Have you seen it?”
It was reported earlier that the interdict gave himself and Mr Ngobese until November 4 to answer as to why municipal property – including a block-making machine, a sewing and embroidery machine and other computer equipment – have not been returned to the municipality.
Sources claimed that some of the equipment was seen at Mr Biyela’s house. He, however, denied this.
Dudu Ncala (who won the vacant Ward 4 for the ANC following Mr Ngobese’s resignation) and another municipal official had previously been dispatched to fetch the equipment.
However, it is understood that the property is yet to be returned.
