Municipality awards pupils with bursaries
A total of 130 students received this much-needed assistance

Mayor Vincent Madlala, Deputy Mayor Sindi Mfusi and other councillors at Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality recently awarded local students with registration bursaries.
This is a programme run by the Youth Office. Students who have passed their matric and wish to continue with their studies are awarded registration bursaries to the institutions of their choice.
This one of the municipality’s initiatives where they ensure that students are assisted in achieving their goals and bettering their education. A total of 130 students received this much-needed assistance.
The mayor congratulated each and every student, and emphasised that it was a privilege for him to hand over bursaries to them personally. While speaking to the students, he pointed out that education is the only opportunity that can change their lives for the better.
“You have worked very hard to be where you are today. As you go to university or the tertiary institution of your choice, it is important not to forget the reason you are there. Behave yourself and strive to succeed beyond your goals,” said Mayor Madlala.
