Punished for trying to curb illegal dumping?

A businessman in Harrismith Road is upset and can’t understand why he has been told to remove a waste container from the street.
The businessman placed the refuse container in Harrismith Road with the intention of curbing illegal dumping in the area. Then, out of the blue, he was told by Public Safety to remove it.
The businessman is disheartened, as he says he never troubles anyone to get rid of his rubbish, personally off-loading it at the dump yard and then placing the container back in Harrismith Road for everyone to use, not just him.
The refuse container has been stationed there for over a month. “I do not know the reason Protection Services do not want me to have it there.
“I feel I’m doing something good for the community and preventing the street from looking like a mess. I have read many articles and seen dumping in many areas in Ladysmith, and that is why I wanted to try and do a good deed for the community. I am now astonished that Protection Services have a problem with it,” explains the businessman.
Is this a case of no good deed going unpunished?
