UPDATE: Accused cops walk free
Faruk Omor, a shop owner from oSizweni, claimed he was robbed by the two officers on January 14 after 8pm. During the incident, he was handcuffed and also allegedly beaten by the two police officers.
According to an unofficial source, the two Madadeni police officers accused of robbery are still walking free.

Captain Shooz Magudulela had originally claimed that the case was being investigated by Independent Police Directorate (IPID).
“Cases involving police are not handled locally. It is thus up to the unit to charge them and submit members to court if allegations have been investigated properly. The case docket is also decided upon by the State Prosecutor, who releases an order to detain and present members of the SAPS to court,” Captain Magudulela had said when first questioned about the incident.
However, Moses Dlamini, IPID spokesperson denied the case was being investigated by IPID, as the unit focused on more serious crimes committed by police officers, such as murder, rape and torture.
Captain Magudulela was questioned again regarding the matter, but has failed to respond.
