Water, water wherever you look in Limit Hill

Clean drinking water flows down the road on a daily basis

Limit Hill has been facing a large number of pipe bursts and leaks, some of which have not been attended to after a very long time.

One such burst is in EJ Smith Crescent, where a pipe has been leaking for over a year now. Residents first thought the source of the water was a blocked manhole, but on closer inspection, it was found that it was a burst pipe.

Clean drinking water is seen flowing down the road on a daily basis, so long now that algae has formed on the road and pavement.

Residents of one particular house which is “right on top” of the burst pipe say their children can’t even play outside their own home due to the water that is always flowing down the driveway. This is also a health risk due to the stagnant water that’s always on their front lawn.

As is the case with conditions of this nature, mosquitoes have already started to breed.

Cllr Abbas Warasally has been to the house in question to assess the problem.
