Burst pipe in Hollyhock Avenue
Within hours, the pipe was spraying water again...
A burst pipe that can’t seem to be fixed properly has left residents of Hollyhock Avenue without water since Monday morning.
At around 9am on March 2, a pipe burst outside Mr Khan’s driveway, with clean water gushing down the street.
He immediately phoned uThukela, who only sent out workers at 2pm that afternoon. The pipe was fixed when the workers left, but at 6pm the same evening, it burst again.
Mr Khan phoned uThukela to notify them of the problem, but workers only pitched up on Wednesday at 1pm. In the meantime, residents had to battle with dry taps.
The pipe was fixed a second time, but a huge hole was left in the ground.
Within hours, the pipe was spraying water again…
“I am so fed up with this ongoing problem and tired of not having water,” says a frustrated Mr Khan.
