War room burns as Sithembile unrest continues
The war room is supposed to be a place where issues to help the needy are discussed but that too has borne the brunt of the community's anger

The unrest in Sithembile, Glencoe, is continuing and the latest victim is the so-called war room that was gutted by a fire.
Arson is suspected. The war room is a meeting room, built by the municipality, where ward committee meetings are held and strategies discussed aimed at helping the needy in the community.

The township has been on fire in recent weeks after accusations that ward Councillor, Lungile Mbhele of the ANC, had manipulated a jobs list to ensure that her friends and family were hired by Transnet for a temporary job.
Schooling has been disrupted and roads into Sithembile blocked. Residents have called on the Councillor and Mayor Mahaye to issue an apology.
