District keeps residents on the line

District Mayor, Jabu Khumalo welcomed the opening of the full time call centre, created to mainly address water-related matters, such as billing enquiries and emergencies.

Residents’ concerns are being taken seriously by the Amajuba District Municipality.

This was the message relayed by the launch of the Customer Care Contact Centre, situated within the municipal building in Madadeni, on March 27.

Officials promised this centre would operate all day, every day.

District Mayor, Jabu Khumalo welcomed the opening of the full time call centre, created to mainly address water-related matters, such as billing enquiries and emergencies.

This is a step forward, since uThukela Water was relieved of water services duties in 2013.

Thus the task of managing bulk water supply fell onto the shoulders of the district municipality, wholly accountable to the community at large.

“The creation of the centre will create another platform for communities to communicate with the district municipality,” Cllr Khumalo added.

To utilise the centre, call 086 026 2582. Send an SMS to 32981, or you can email contact@majuba.gov.za
