No tolerance for ‘revolting refuse’
Early childhood development centre, Kidz Space has become the latest 'casualty'. Condoms, cigarette boxes, used toilet paper, cans and human faeces have begun piling a few metres away from where children spend their playtime.
“At first I thought it was a pink balloon and then I realised one of the prostitutes had blown up a condom!” exclaimed a staff member of a business on the corner of Paterson and Sutherland streets.
Since April 28, prostitutes who staked their claim on Paterson Street years ago allegedly found a new place to ‘go about their business’. Early childhood development centre, Kidz Space has become the latest ‘casualty’. Condoms, cigarette boxes, used toilet paper, cans and human faeces have begun piling a few metres away from where children spend their playtime.
“I noticed the mess they’d made behind our signage wall for the first time on April 28,” alleged a staff member. “It’s a poor reflection on us; we’re trying to run a business here.”
Of the utmost importance to staff was how the children and their parents would respond to the repugnant mess.
“The children don’t understand what the mess is or what is happening, but we firmly believe this is unhealthy for them,” said staff. On April 29, a municipal staff member was spotted clearing some of the rancid rubbish left behind the day before. The garbage behind the wall was left untouched.
“I don’t blame him for not wanting to pick up somebody else’s faeces!
“I wouldn’t either!” exclaimed an exasperated bystander. Management is strongly considering removing the wall that bears the Kidz Space signage, despite the negative impact it may have on advertising and business in general. The team is willing to take the matter further, provided the children are protected at any and all costs.
They explained parents park their cars there when they pick their children up in the afternoon, perceiving the negative influence the ‘disaster’ brewing behind their wall was likely to have.
“It’s just unhygienic!” exclaimed staff. “We just want them to go somewhere else.”
A resident in the vicinity of the signage wall said he was disgusted by the mess being made. “Whether it is legal or not, they [prostitutes] don’t have to be so explicit,” he claimed.
The community was steadfast in their belief that no business should suffer under the wrath of alleged prostitution, simply stating sex workers should just ‘move along’.
