Huge pothole in Diamana Road

Small cars cannot drive over the hole due to its size and depth

A ‘pool-size’ pothole in Diamana Road has caused major problems for residents in the area for years now.

A meeting was called by the area residents yesterday (Monday) to speak about the ongoing problems they are facing, and Cllr Abbas Warasally was invited to attend. According to local resident Christopher Fobian, the pothole has been there for years and nothing has been done to ever repair the road surface.

Small cars cannot drive over the hole due to its size and depth.

To make matters worse, the pothole is always filled with water, due to a possible burst water pipe.

Diamana Road resident Susan Cloette commented that, “We can’t even push a pram with our babies in it when we go to town”. They have to go around the pothole, which makes their walking distance longer and their trip more time-consuming.

Residents ask when this huge pothole will ever be fixed so that they can lead a normal life.
