UTRECHT STREET, between Republic and East streets is to be rehabilitated. This is arguably Vryheid’s busiest street, and the rehabilitation is not going to happen without some inconvenience to businesses and residents along this particular stretch of road.
The rehabilitation will involve the removal and replacement of existing sub-surface layer works, storm water drainage, kerbs and asphalt, and the renewal of all road markings. It is planned to begin in the middle of July, and is expected to take four to five months.
An official notice on page 13 of this Vryheid Herald advises interested and affected parties of a public meeting, at which details of the project will be explained.
The meeting will be held on Monday, July 6, at 3:00pm in the Vryheid Library Hall.
Representatives from the municipality and the design engineers will present their plan of action for the project, and interested and affected parties will have an opportunity to express their concerns.
Representations may also be made in writing, by telephone, by fax or e-mail. See the notice on page 13 for details.
