According to local police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig, on July 16 (Thursday) at about 5.20pm, the municipal manager of Indaka Municipality was reportedly travelling in a vehicle along the Helpmekaar Road. In the Intshele area, he was ambushed by 3 gunmen.
He was shot and killed, suffering wounds to the head and body.
The deceased is 53 years old and Ezakheni SAPS are investigating a case of murder.
The motive behind the incident is not yet clear.
