FILL UP TOMORROW: Fuel price drops at midnight

The Central Energy Fund and Department of Energy have confirmed fuel prices will drop at midnight.

Motorists rejoice – the fuel price will decrease tonight.

Information released by the Central Energy Fund (CEF), on behalf of the Department of Energy, stated petrol would drop by 51 cents in retail price.

0.05 per cent sulphur diesel will be cut by 75,82 cents per litre.

Other products which have been decreased are 0.005 per cent sulphur diesel by 73,82 cents p/litre, paraffin products by between 70 and 93 cents p/litre and LP gas by 89 cents p/litre.

The CEF said average international product price drops had affected local pricing.

“The weakening of the Rand against the US Dollar decreased the contribution to the Basic Fuels Price on petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin…”

With the drop, the ‘coastal’ petrol price is at its lowest since May.
