Electrical cable theft continues unabated
Umtshezi Municipality Acting Municipal Manager Elphas Dladla confirmed that electrical cable to the value of R3 000 was stolen

Cable thieves made off with valuable loot last Thursday when cable was stolen from the corner of Beechwood and Richmond roads.
A resident who lives nearby said that when he woke in the morning, there was no electricity supply and a look outside confirmed that cable thieves had struck again.
He suspects that the incident occurred at about 3am. Umtshezi Municipality Acting Municipal Manager Elphas Dladla confirmed that electrical cable to the value of R3 000 was stolen. No damage was done to the street light pole.
Cable theft was also reported in Mcfarlane Street and Drummond Road. When asked about the progress of trying to curb cable theft, which has become rampant in Estcourt,
Mr Dladla said that all information had been reported to the police but no feedback has been received.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel TM Mabaso did not respond to questions regarding the cases at the time of going to print.
