It apparently happened some months ago when a number of disgruntled people overturned the concrete rubbish bins in Church Street. The one on the corner of Church and Landdrost streets, opposite the Police Station, has been lying in the gutter since. A business in the area complained, someone, a woman, from the municipality apparently came and looked at the problem, but nothing has been done about it. The question is: how can it be expected that pedestrians put their litter in a bin instead of in the gutters when the bin is itself lying in the gutter? Community Services were contacted and the Vryheid Herald awaits a response.
