A business owner at 1 Ralfe Street says that paying R68 per month for a service that is non-existent is preposterous.

Refuse removal service in this short street, which is off Lorne Street, has been very erratic.

The refuse from the businesses at this address piles up in the yard and this resident has resorted to removing the refuse bags and other business refuse to the landfill site in Mimosadale by himself.

“I have been complaining to the Planning, Economic and Community Services Department (PECS) for more than three weeks but have had no response from them. I think that it is unfair that they charge us for a service they do not provide and if this carries on I will demand a refund,” said the upset businessman.

His concerns was relayed to Umtshezi Municipality but no response was received at the time of going to print.
