Update: Water running again in Acaciavale

Technicians worked till early this morning to restore water supply for residents of the area

The burst pipe that left residents of Dianthus Road and Daffodil Crescent without water for hours yesterday afternoon was fixed by uThukela this morning.

According to residents, the pipe burst on Sunday night and continued to leak throughout the day (Monday) until uThukela workers arrived after midday yesterday and closed the valve to stop the water from flowing down the road.

Technicians were working on a burst pipe in Observation Hill last night and then attended to the pipe in Dianthus Road, working until early this morning to restore water supply for residents of the area.

However, a homeowner in Dianthus Road (where the pipe burst) says the pipe is still leaking even after being “fixed”. uThukela technicians have gone out again and repaired the leak, and water is running from people’s taps once again.

The homeowner’s driveway had to be dug up so that technicians could work on the pipe.
