School supports Estcourt Animal Shelter

The class to collect the most weight in animal food was Mrs Jordaan's grade one class

The Estcourt Animal Shelter recently received food and money collected by the learners of Drakensview Primary School. Mrs Peters, a grade six educator ran a competition to see which class could bring the most dog and cat food and money to school.

Some classes accepted the challenge and were determined to win. Michelle and Nelson from the Animal Shelter recently collected the donations and the class winners were announced.

The class to collect the most weight in animal food was Mrs Jordaan’s grade one class, and Miss Visagie’s grade six class collected the most money. All the classes that participated received certificates.

Well done and thank you to the parents who made these donations possible. Some of the children were later introduced to Michelle’s huge Great Dane Max and were keen to make friends.
