PART of the process of a driving licence and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) application, and the renewal thereof, is an eye test. It needs to be ascertained if a driver’s vision is OK, and whether they need glasses.
A member of the public says that she was informed that her eyes had to be tested at the testing centre, and that there was no point in her producing a certificate or letter from her optometrist. She said that it might be useful if the rest of the public were aware of this.
It seems to be true.
The testing centre has to do its own eye test. If the applicant fails the test, then he or she does have the right to appeal via a optometrist’s certificate, but there is no point in arriving with such a certificate first.
Your eyes will still be tested by the traffic personnel.
