New payment choice for N3 toll route
This automated technology will enhance safety, convenience and mobility for N3TC customers

On Friday, December 4, N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) started to implement an automated electronic tag payment option in selected lanes at all its toll plazas.
This will also affect the toll road close to Ladysmith, Tugela, Tugela East Ramp and the Bergville Ramp Plaza.
Automated tag payment is an additional and convenient toll payment method for motorists who have SANRAL tags fitted in their vehicles. Automated technology will enhance the safety, convenience and mobility for N3TC customers who choose to use this payment method. If this payment method is your preferred method, look out for signs as well as orange lanes at all plazas on the N3 toll route.
Only these orange lanes have been fitted with the technology to detect the SANRAL tag in your vehicle and effect a toll transaction, provided you have sufficient funds in your SANRAL account.
If you choose not to make use of this payment method, you should avoid orange lanes as they are only for tagged vehicles. The charges will not change due to the automated payment method.
The automated tag payment option will be available at the following mainline and ramp plazas on the N3 toll route:
- De Hoek
- Wilge
- Tugela
- Mooi River
- Bergville Ramp Plaza
- Tugela East Ramp Plaza
- Mooi South Ramp Plaza
- Mooi North Ramp Plaza
- Mooi Treverton Ramp Plaza
