Crime continues to be a problem in the area with four burglaries being reported in the space of two days.
The first case happened in Lindelani where the door to a home was forced open to gain entrance. A flat screen TV to the value of R6 000 was stolen. No arrests have yet been made.
In the second incident, a home in Sibongile was broken into. The door was forced open to gain entrance and a cellphone, airtime, cash and a white handbag were stolen. In both cases the complainants were asleep and only noticed the items were stolen when they woke the next morning.
The third burglary occurred at Buffalo Coal’s offices.
Two laptops, a water feature and a cellphone charger, all valued at R16 650 were stolen. The complainant alleged that when he left the office, everything was inside. However, when he returned the next day, he saw the door was unlocked and items were stolen.
The fourth burglary took place in Dundee. A DSTV decoder, hair cutting machine and cash all valued at R3 179 were stolen. Entrance was gained through the bathroom window.
Communications Officer, Captain Mbense urged the community to report anyone selling or in possession of stolen goods.
He also added that anyone found in possession of stolen property would be charged and face the full wrath of the law.
