Embracing the feminine side

As part of the hospital's Medi-Prime programme, the aim was to help women understand and manage the physical changes in the female body during her lifetime.

NEWCASTLE CENTRAL – Doing its share for Women’s Month, Mediclinic Newcastle held an awareness day, The ever-changing woman’s body, at Mediclinic Centre on August 26.

As part of the hospital’s Medi-Prime programme, the aim was to help women understand and manage the physical changes in the female body during her lifetime.

Guest speaker of the day, Doctor Josh Matambo, gave practical advice on feminine health care, and discussed puberty, family planning, pregnancy, menopause and hormonal changes.

The treatment of problems like cysts, fibrosis and abdominal pain also came in the spotlight.

Dr Matambo emphasised the importance of regular gynaecological examinations.
