Following a recent incident of murder and rape, as well as attempted murder, police are appealing to the public to exercise caution when stopping or parking their vehicles in isolated areas.
Three men armed with knives and / or firearms have been approaching occupants seated inside vehicles parked in isolated areas or areas where there is seldom traffic or pedestrian activity.
The three then rob the victims of their valuables.
In one instance, the suspects murdered the driver and raped his female passenger.
If at all possible, avoid isolated areas, no matter what time of day. Rather be in a busy area where people are within shouting distance and can immediately see if you are in need of help.
Before stopping or while seated in your parked car, be very aware of what is happening around you. If you notice any suspicious people or activity, leave immediately and alert police of your suspicions.
