A 55-year-old man was accosted by three armed attackers after stopping his vehicle along Progress Road on Wednesday (September 28). One of the assailants was armed with a knife and two with firearms.
They tried to open the car doors and when they failed to do so, they fired a shot through the windscreen. The driver was injured in the arm before managing to get his vehicle started and speeding off.
Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
