Newcastle police arrested three suspects, between the ages of 31 and 36, for the possession of stolen copper cables on September 22.

According to police reports, the suspects allegedly used duplicate keys to gain entry to Arcelor Mittal premises, and stole the cables valued at R176 000.

An informant notified the police of the whereabouts of the suspects, which led to their arrests.

The suspects appeared in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court on September 23.
