Ladysmith Visible Policing officers attended the scene of a shooting last night (October 9) in Ben Schoeman Street.
It is alleged that a 49-year-old male was ambushed at around 7pm while travelling in his vehicle.
The man suffered fatal gunshot wounds and numerous spent cartridges were recovered at the scene. The deceased has not yet been formally identified.
Ladysmith detectives are investigating a case of murder.
