Fake notes so bad you may even laugh
TWO women from a business in President Street visited the Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch headquarters on Friday with a warning for other businesses in the area.
TWO women from a business in President Street visited the Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch headquarters on Friday with a warning for other businesses in the area.
According to the women, a reasonably well-dressed man entered their shop on Thursday, and purchased an item. He produced what they described as “a wad of R200 notes” and proceeded to pay for his purchase with one of these notes. Somewhat embarrassed following the transaction, one of the women admits that she hadn’t checked the note properly as it was rolled up at the time. The man paid for his purchase and left the shop.
Further inspection revealed, however, that the R200 note in question was a rather unconvincing counterfeit note.
