On Sunday afternoon, October 16 at about 5pm Amangwe police were conducting a crime prevention operation when they came across a suspicious Quantum minibus driving towards Injisuthi Road.
The driver was stopped and the vehicle searched. The alertness of the members paid off when 39 bags of dagga were found inside. Seven suspects were arrested.
The dagga, which weighs around 260kg has a street value of around R400 000.
All seven suspects appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Monday where they face charges of possession of dagga. The suspects are aged between 21 and 54 years.
