Three suspects appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (October 24) on charges of house robbery.
During the early hours of yesterday morning, a 23-year-old man was at his house in Umbulwane when three men stormed in.
One of the suspects had a firearm. The three robbed the resident of his cell-phone, a heater, shoes and a kettle.
The resident managed to flee, and reported the incident to police.
Within the hour, the suspects (aged 19, 23 and 37) were traced to a house nearby, where they were arrested. Most of the stolen property was recovered.
Police are investigating the possibility that the three may be linked to other robberies in the area.
