Infamous Coronation Park strikes again as residents call police

Residents told the Courier that they want the Council to fence off the park to prevent 'park parties' and that are normally accompanied by anti-social behaviour.

The notorious Coronation Park, opposite Dundee Hospital, known for its drunken parties that leave behind piles of green liquor bottles and other discard, again erupted last night after residents thought a man had been stabbed.

The police took some time to respond to the call out and during that time residents in the Ryley/Coronation/McKenzie Street area became increasingly worried.  One resident, who spoke to the Courier but declined to be named, said they had seen two of the men’s ‘friends’ taking what their thought was  the stabbing victim to the hospital.

When police did arrive, it was revealed that the ‘victim’ had passed out because of over indulgence.  Heated words were exchanged between the men and some residents, fed up with the continual noise and incidents at the park.
